HR Generalist

Visual effects company Zoic Studios, headquartered in Culver City with multiple offices in this worldwide creative industry, is looking for a talented HR Generalist to join our team.  We’re looking for an energetic, creative, solutions focused, high achieving individual who thrives on new challenges, and takes pride in their work.  You will report to the controller and have exposure to all levels of management in our television and advertising divisions.  This position is located in our Los Angeles office.

Job Details

  • Serve as a well-informed knowledge source on payroll and benefits.
  • Administer payroll and resolve employee payroll issues for our CA and NY offices.
  • Benefits administration and advocacy including coordinating enrollment, anticipating annual renewal and open enrollment, and educating employees about options.
  • Maintain, update and distribute company handbook.
  • Prepare for new employees and conduct new employee orientations.
  • Stay up-to-date on compliancy issues affecting the HR department and the company.
  • Create and maintain organized and complete human resource records including electronic files, paper files and binders and appropriate backup and support.
  • Partner with Recruitment Team on:
    • Onboarding
    • Terminations & exit interviews
    • Cultural initiatives and perks 
    • Employee Satisfaction/Relations Surveys

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in HR or related field and 3 - 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and principles of human resources including FMLA, ADA, benefit, and employee relations.
  • Experience processing payroll/generating reports using ADP or other similar payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of IRS, Federal, state and local laws, regulations and requirements governing payroll and employment is preferred.
  • Certifications for Human Resource Professionals (PHR, SPHR) is preferred.
