Digital Matte Painting Artist

Our Vancouver location is seeking an experienced Digital Matte Painter / Concept Artist.

Summary of Position

The ideal candidate will be part of a small digital matte painting department.  You will be responsible for collaborating with other team members to create 2D and 3D matte paintings under the direction of our VFX Supervisors and Lead Matte Painter.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation of the 2D, 2.5D, and 3D elements of an environment shot
  • Combine photographic, paint, and 3D assets to create concepts and design environments using techniques such as camera animation, image projection, layering, and lighting
  • Extensive experience creating 2.5D Environments in Houdini
  • Provide and acquire photographic and other reference materials

Qualifications

  • Extensive use and knowledge of Photoshop
  • Strong knowledge of 3D animation programs such as Maya
  • Strong knowledge of Nuke, both 2D & 3D
  • Strong knowledge of Houdini
  • Good Knowledge of lighting, rendering and the compositing process
  • Positive attitude, hard worker, flexible schedule for deliveries
  • Must present an up-to-date reel showcasing required skills

Zoic is a Houdini/Maya/VRay/Nuke studio.

  • Candidates MUST be located in the United States, British Columbia or Ontario. This is a remote (work from home) position.
