Junior System Administrator
All applicants must be residents of British Columbia, Canada.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada ie. Citizen, PR, Open Work Permit.
Current open project positions will start in immediately and go to early August 2026.
At this time, we’re pleased to offer this role as an option to work from home OR work from our Vancouver studio in the beautiful Gastown area, close to the Waterfront Station in Downtown. (Remote is not available outside of BC). This position will require some days each week working in the studio.

Summary of Position
The Jr Systems Administrator works as part of the systems support team to assist with developing and supporting the studio technology environment.
Job Functions
- Assist systems administrators with supporting desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and applications.
- Assist with general technology support as needed.
- Communicate policies and procedures to end users.
- Assist with administering software licenses and license servers.
- Assist with documentation and training materials.
- Assist with administering mobile device management software.
- Work with technology ticketing system to service support requests.
- Work with production departments to troubleshoot tech-related issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience supporting Linux/Mac/Windows desktops.
- Experience in a technical field supporting end-user hardware and software, preferred.
- Basic understanding of automation tools such as imaging, configuration management, etc.
- Basic understanding of Unix, networking, and hardware fundamentals.
- Well-organized with planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., data centers and closets).
- Able to effectively manage shifting priorities within tight deadlines while fostering positive working relationships.
- Basic knowledge of visual effects concepts and applications, preferred.
- Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., shell, ruby, python,) preferred.
Additional information
- British Columbia Employees Pay Range: $24 - $28/hour (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position)
- Zoic does not cover relocation costs.
- Any and all WFH positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.
